Beauty Industry Confidence Study Launched by Professional Beauty Association and Pivot Point

## Ongoing Research Initiative to Track Beauty Industry Confidence The Professional Beauty Association and Pivot Point have recently collaborated to develop Pro Beauty Pulse, an ongoing research initiative aimed at providing a monthly view of confidence and sentiment across both the professional beauty and beauty school markets. This study will track the perceptions and expectations of salon owners, stylists, independent professionals, and school owners within the beauty industry. ## Measuring Confidence and Sentiment The Pro Beauty Pulse study will examine the perceptions of three groups of professionals: salon owners, salon employees, and independent professionals. Each group will be asked to assess business conditions over the past 30 days, their current state of business, and their expectations for the next 30 days. This data will be analyzed alongside transaction data from The KIM Report, which anonymously aggregates point-of-sale data from over 10,000 salons and tracks key trends across service, retail, and consumer behavior. ## Beauty School Portion of the Study The beauty school portion of Pro Beauty Pulse will focus on beauty school leaders, examining their assessment of the past 30 days, current school conditions, and expectations for the next 30 days. This will provide a broader view of how different parts of the beauty industry are experiencing and responding to changing conditions. ## Goal of the Study The goal of the Pro Beauty Pulse study is to measure the confidence levels of salon owners, stylists, independent professionals, and school owners within the beauty industry. By tracking the professional and school markets independently, while following both consistently over time, Pro Beauty Pulse will have a broader view of how different parts of the beauty industry are experiencing and responding to changing conditions. ## Industry News and Updates In related news, the beauty industry has seen various updates and announcements. The Black Beauty Roster has partnered with Ulta Beauty to launch the All Textures Certification (ATC) program, aimed at addressing gaps in education within the beauty industry and raising the level of skills and guest satisfaction for all. Additionally, Mireya Villarreal, founder of From Chair to Boss, is bringing together beauty industry leaders for a new one-day educational event designed to help salon professionals strengthen the business side of their careers.
